A new song from the amazing Great Earthquake I was lucky enough to be at this gig.
So I’ve finished my little E.P. of ukulele-based tunes. It was mastered a couple of weeks back and will be getting pressed tomorrow!
There’s gonna be a launch gig for it (and for a “best of” from the amazingly talented Great Earthquake) on the 1st of April (no, really). Along with some other acts on the 500 Dollar Limit label.
More info on this when the CDs are ready!
Made some deep fried zucchini flowers for lunch today using flowers from our garden. Stuffed them with breadcrumbs, cherry tomatoes, fresh basil & oregano, boiled silverbeet, parmesan and tasty cheese. Bonnie is pictured helping beat an egg white batter that they were coated in before deep-frying - yummy!
I was inspired by Shelley Rickey’s washtub bass plans to construct my own. Lots of fun and super easy/cheap to make (which is helpful given that I’m decidedly un-handy with tools and what not). You can see in the picture that Bonnie certainly had some fun strumming it. Now all I need is a washboard for percussion to complete the perfect trio (banjo uke + washtub bass + washboard).
